About St. Peter's - Wine Hill
St. Peter's, Wine Hill is often thought of as the "little white church on the hill." A grove of trees and the church cemetery is the view from the front of the church, along with the schoolhouse to the west. In early years, a parish house was located between the church and parking lot just south of the front sidewalk.
When the first Constitution was written, the church was called St. Peter's Church, a German Evangelical Lutheran congregation, in Randolph County, Il. Now, we are St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Wine Hill.
We are a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we believe in a Triune God. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the norm for the faith and life of the church and that Jesus Christ is the Word Incarnate. We confess the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. We accept the Augsburg Confession and the writings in the Book of Concord as valid interpretations of the faith of the church.
We welcome all baptized Christians to the Lord's Table for Holy Communion.
